📊 Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning

CODAID places strong emphasis on community feedback, transparency, and accountability. Our Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) unit ensures that the needs of beneficiaries are met and that lessons learned inform future programming.

🔍 M&E Focus Areas

  • Post-Distribution Monitoring (PDM): Regular follow-ups ensured food reached intended households and assessed satisfaction with food quality and quantity.
  • Community Feedback Mechanisms: Enabled non-beneficiaries and vulnerable individuals to raise concerns or register complaints.
  • Success Documentation: Identified stories of resilience, innovation, and community ownership across Payams and Bomas.

Key Observations:

  • Many beneficiaries confirmed improved food security, even with minimal rations.
  • Complaints highlighted a need for increased caseloads, especially after a poor farming season.
  • Community-owned projects were more sustainable and respected by local leaders.

🧠 Lessons Learned (2021–2023)

  1. Inception workshops build trust and improve community ownership of humanitarian projects.
  2. Community verification ensures accuracy and fairness in beneficiary selection.
  3. Strong local leadership and PMC participation play a key role in conflict resolution and transparency.
  4. Alcohol misuse significantly disrupts programming and contributes to GBV; enforcement of local laws is essential.
  5. School feeding is vital for improving enrollment and retention in rural schools.
